Location
North end of Aquatic Park, Berkeley

Given the high level of interest, we recommend parking significant distance away and taking transit to the park. For example, park at North Berkeley BART, Rockridge BART, or MacArthur BART, take BART to downtown Berkeley, take bus from there to the park. See 511.org for transit options: your destination is
Addison St. at E. Bolivar Drive, Berkeley 94710.

Ride drop-off addresses:

Best: Sea Breeze Market, 598 University Ave., Berkeley, CA 94710 (use pedestrian overpass to reach the park)
or 2031 Second St., Berkeley, CA 94710 (less preferred because of heavy traffic)

Biking

Bike to the event. Make sure to bring your light and your lock. We recommend locking your bike (frame and both wheels) to the fence of the Plexxikon lot inside the lot. Entrance to the lot is opposite the Waterside Workshops Café. Be sure to remove your bike before 10 p.m. when the lot will be locked.

Parking

There is essentially no parking in the neighborhood around the park. We encourage biking, walking, taking public transit, taking drop-off services (taxis, Lyft), or carpooling.

There is also basically no unreserved parking in Aquatic Park (other than for seniors/disabled, and special parking arrangements for our volunteers). The Berkeley Marina to the west of the freeway on University Avenue has several large parking lots, and there is parking along University Ave. west of the freeway. Use pedestrian overpass south of University Ave. to reach the ceremony. Click map above for details.

Disabled/Senior Parking: A limited number of parking spaces for disabled and senior attendees will be available. For unreserved senior/disabled spaces, drive into the park going west on Bancroft Way and turn right at Bolivar Dr. (where Bancroft ends, in the park). Senior/disabled parking will be demarcated by signs on your right (red on the above map; click map for larger view). Exit via Bancroft Way after the event; Addison St. will be closed off. (Note: the few reserved senior/disabled spaces shown as a blue line on the map have all been claimed.)

20th Ceremony:  August, 2022  — plans TBA depending on evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic
